Muse places a thought in my head like a farmer planting a bean, that I am to demonstrate through the works, how perception creates reality, in small readable<\/em>\u00a0increments. \u00a0 First, the flimsiness of perception, optical illusion, questions of prioritizing the thing and its image, and how we have no law in the collective thinking that privileges one over the other. \u00a0 We are constantly flip-flopping between reflections with this smallizing and unknowable\u00a0idea-word \u201creal” assigning that word to mutually exclusive ideas. \u00a0not asking whether it\u2019s serving us well to regard something as “real” – that “real” pain is worth concentrating on? With fashion choices and eating habits we believe we are creating the self. \u00a0Hair style, for example. You can have any one you want. But there are some you prefer, and some that would never be “you”. \u00a0so you create yourself this way, and wear your hair in some surprising other way as costume.<\/p>\n

Fffortune telling<\/p>\n

And the optics, big paper on the wall and contemplation, charting the investigations with a piece of graphite the half-size of a domino, \u00a0leaving blank spaces intentionally so the content of the thought can appear on its own terms.<\/p>\n

Even I move faster than me. \u00a0I look back at the work, over two<\/a>\u00a0years, over five<\/a>, how much, how much art, some of it undocumented, the documentation being what makes it \u2018real\u2019, recording<\/a>, passing through time to cause the thought of it again, the thought of it, reflection, the Now and the thought. and from this crevice this seam in being comes the opportunity to read fortunes in the center of optical installations.<\/p>\n

Transubstantiating: changing substance, yes? moving into another form. \u00a0into shape, and made-ness and presentation, communication, how much finish and how much left the mess alone,<\/p>\n

Duality, change, egg, and spam.<\/p>\n
