world

The problem of plastic, it’s so much worse than you think because it remains plastic even at the microscopic level, permeating the water of the world, to the demise of first the fish and then the roots and the kidneys, and so I am called to remember that one of the great geniuses of the world, Buckminster Fuller, pointed out that our mass social worries about the future are always changing because we fix them in profound, quantum ways that can’t be anticipated, like the wheel and the printing press and industrialization and vaccination and mechanized farming and the internet.  and so i envision a solution to the plastic problem, something like a plastic magnet, an antidote to plastic, with features it so desperately needs like renewability, certain biological harmlessness, compatibility with the built and natural environments, ease of use, maybe we re-ionize the atmosphere with fungi genetically engineered to the task, .  if I could think of it then it wouldn’t be something we can’t imagine.  So instead I have to make a crackpot of myself describing the nature of the un-invented in presently available ideas.
