There’s now and there’s now.
I remember once seeing microscopy images, giganticised, and specific. I had to drop it and run for the work’s life. But the valuable takeaway now is I see that I am making large-scale contiguous forms made known with the light. like any thing.
I see its possibilities now, I see the form filled out. it needs to be clean, it needs to be immaculate,
All One ALL ONE
the wire and the optics, reflection, shadow and the screen, a gigantic contiguous body that interacts with an alternate version of the same space, not adhering to typical use or traffic pattern, not confined to the human eye level, but on another scale of perception, perhaps only a small segment of itself iterated in the exhibition space, the room a container that barely serves. how it is a thing in space, makes itself clear now, as I reflect with the imagined picture of it waning and waxing in my mind’s eye like too much light.

What are the questions that define each element?
Why am I making this piece and what do I want to clarify?
All effects purposeful: awe isn’t enough
What’s the foundational issue of this piece?
It takes my mind 8 seconds to see the light piece, sculpting with light in 3D. i have to let that awful mess I presented at crit sail away – it caused me to get exactly the feedback I need to bring the work forward.
